2011 October, Dametric's new website in progress.Dametric will soon get a new website, with some help from the web company Snyggare-Internet. We can promise you a website with a brighter and more user-friendly design. 2011 April, Dametric at SPCI 2011, Älvsjö.Dametric will be one of the exhibitors at the SPCI-fair in Stockholm-Älvsjö 17-19/5 2011. We will show some improvements on the AGS-system, the RMS/GMS-system and the TDC-sensor for measuring Gap in Refiners for pulp. Stand no. A03:50 2010 December, AGS systems in Kvarnsveden. Two AGS systems are installed at the Kvarnsveden Mill in Borlänge, Sweden. The sensors are installed as an In Kind contribution to the project “Filling the Gap”, with the target to improve Gap measurement and evaluate Impedance measurement. The installation is done together with Metso Paper and Stora Enso.
2010 December, Dametric begins making trials with an upgraded coating thickness sensor (TMS-II) at SSAB Tunnplåt, Borlänge. Now the attempts with Dametric's new coating thickness sensor which we call TMS-II begins. It's, like the earlier sensor, a touch free On-line measuring system, but now we have developed it to even higher accuracy and the possibility to measure also on wet paint. The sensor uses our patent pending technology that combines our reluctance sensor (magnetic) with a Confocal Chromatic sensor (optical). 2010 November, AGS systems in Finland successfully started. The AGS systems are running well and are very useful especially when running in high pressure mode (8 to 9 bars = termopulp level) with small plate gaps. Nowadays close to all operators can make calibrations in different situations and trust the system, says Juhani Kirjavinen from Metso Paper.

The K-GTS is fully exchangeable with the old K-GT and its stronger casing and fitting to the sensor will improve reliability for the whole installation. 2010 January, The AGS Impedance measurement test in the two Twin60s at Braviken shows promising results.Correlating the Impedance against Concentration and Dilution water in the Andritz refiners at Braviken shows promising results. 2009 December, The Startup procedure will be changed in the RMS logic when running on Turbine segments.A new procedure with new gap limits at starting up is going to be implemented. Especially when running on Turbine segments the limits have to be set at a closer position. The parameter settings have to be changed in both RS1 and RMS systems. This will be tested on some machines in the beginning of this year. 2009 December, The 5 steps Berger-Lahr stepping motor is obsolete, will be exchanged to a 2 steps stepping motor.Because of problems with obsolete spare parts, the 5 steps stepping motor for Metso refiner control (CMD-XXX) will be exchanged to a 2 steps stepping motor. This will require a change of cable and driver electronics at the same time as the change of the motor. A complete kit will be available from Metso Spare parts division. 2009 December, Three more AGS sensors to the NewPage Mill in Port Hawkesbury, Canada. One SB-170 and one TW66 will be equipped with AGS sensors at the NewPage Mill in Port Hawkesbury during the beginning of 2010. 2009 November, A new improved Double Disc Cable (K-DDRSC) intended for the DD-68 refiner is ready for delivery. An improved variant of the K-DDRSC will be available during Nov-09. The cable is fitted with better sealings and a stronger cable clamping. 2009 October, Holmen Iggesund Workington orders an AGS-SB170.One of the Andritz SB170 refiners at the Workington Mill will be equipped with an AGS sensor at the end of this year. 2009 October, The AGS is now ready for the RS1 system. The first system will be delivered to Sappi Lanaken Mill, Belgium.Four Metso RGP-60 refiners at Sappi Lanaken Mill will be equipped with AGS sensors at the end of this year. The AGS is made to work together with the RMS-RS1 (SD) systems. 2009 October, The new WDS-DS2 is released. A hand held RFID tag reader for registration of dustbins.A number of garbage collectors will be equipped with our new small RFID reader. 2009 September, The TDC sensor will be made with a new model of the supporting edge. The TDC-200T is the first sensor made with the new model of tip. After a test period in the Braviken Mill there will be a change in the design of all TDC sensors. 2009 August, The TMS at SSAB in Borlänge has been complemented with a Gloss Sensor for On-Line measurement on painted Steel Coils. The Gloss Sensor is mounted together with the Thickness Measurement System and is in that way traversing and protected from coil junctions. 2009 July, WDS systems for waste registration delivered for use on Resta waste lorries.A number of new trucks will be equipped with our new RFID registration system delivered to Wånelid for installation on trucks from Resta. 2009 June, Dametric at IMPC 2009.Bengt Åkerblom made a short presentation at IMPC 2009 in Sundsvall about Gap Measuring and Control in refiners. On this occasion we also showed the AGS system in the Conference Hall. 2009 May, The new TMS upgraded with a Confocal Chromatic Distance Sensor. The new system uses a Confocal Chromatic Sensor from MicroEpsilon instead of a Laser Triangulation Sensor.
