History

In 1979 Datek Industrielektronik AB was awarded a patent for the True Disc Clearance sensor (TDC), the inventor of which was Bengt Åkerblom.

In 1982 Mr Åkerblom founded D/A Production. This followed a split-off from Datek Industrielektronik AB, with a view to developing electronics for challenging industrial environments. From the very outset we worked closely with Metso Paper (formerly Valmet Paper and Sunds Defibrator) and our history was shaped through our reference measurement area sensor (the TDC) and our Disc Clearance Amplifier (the DCA-02).

In 1985 we decided to move the premises of D/A Production to Kungens Kurva, where we remain today. Kungens Kurva is located just outside of Stockholm.

In 1993 D/A Production developed the Refiner Monitoring System (RMS). Over the years we have further developed the True Disc Clearance sensor (TDC) which resulted, among other things, in the development of the RMS.

In 1999 D/A Production developed the Dynamic Weighing System (DWS) in collaboration with our partner PIAB Sweden.

In 2001 D/A Production developed the Thickness Measurement System (TMS) for our customer SSAB. The system is designed to monitor the thickness of items such as paint, plastic, paper, copper, aluminum, wire and felt.

In 2002 D/A Production developed the Gap Monitoring System (GMS), which is a further development of the RMS.

In 2003 D/A Production developed the Adjustable Gap Sensor (AGS). This represents the next generation in automatic on-line self calibrating sensors for refiners.

In 2005 D/A Production changed its name to Dametric.
